| | | Re: My new garden visitor I'm a play worker and took some of the children I look after up to the park earlier in the week. They found a young hedgehog out in the open, which looked scared stiff finding itself surrounded by lots of children. The children didn't realize that they were making it frightened, but once they understood they were quickly telling everyone to back away from it and leave it alone. I moved it to a less open area and hopefully it will be fine. Seeing the young hog was really special, but to be honest seeing the childrens concern once they realised that the animal was frightened and how they responded was so heart warming, I felt very proud of them.

Tracey, that's a heartwarming story. Children need educating about these things, and I've found they're usually very willing to learn. |
