| | | Muntjac bravery Hi
I live in a village surounded by intensive arable farming and we have a large head of Muntjac, however it is very difficult to get close to them. Locally Muntjac are generally nervous and very alert. When I visit nature reserves with lots of people the Muntjac when present tend to be very confident and they seem to learn very quickly that in those places people are not a threat. Minsmere for example is a reserve where you can get very close to a Muntjac without any alarm. Yesterday at a neighbouring county reserve this Muntjac was very obliging and only when I really pushed my luck did it move quietly away.

My views of them have never been that close!:
Nice.

| | | Re: Muntjac bravery Excellent photo!
I see loads of muntjac, but they're absolute devils to photograph. Like you say, they are normally very twitchy.
Mind you, they don't seem too bothered by cars. Take a drive around here in the evening and there's always one or two standing by the side of the road. If you stop the car though, they're off like a shot!

No wonder they're getting nervous!
