| | | Re: roe deer print pt 2 I thought it must be ungulate - Roe are the only ones we get in this immediate area Ron, so I think if its deer its safe to assume Roe, many thanks!

| | | Re: roe deer print pt 2 Hi James, It was, we get them fairly commonly -have done for a few years now - they spread quite well along wildlife corridors and are at Carrbrook and Millbrook (Stalybridge Country Park) too, towards Ashton, where they are seen in woody places, probably this is their source, from the north Cheshire area - I bet Ruth Daniel has seen them there!
Most often seen in either bad weather or early morning, near woodland/scrubland, eg by fishermen.
This print was near the cricket club (Saddleworth) at Friezland, next to the river.
I have also seen prints under the road bridge in greenfield, where they have built the Kingfisher pub - I think they must use the river there for nocturnal movement to get past Chew valley road.
They have been seen in Uppermill too.
Just keep watching and hope for luck!
Cheers
Ken

Ken | I've never heard of any being reported locally,we have more waterways (meres, rivers, canals, flashes, boat lift!) than woods in this part of Cheshire Ken........great for the birds tho! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
