| | | Fallow deer Ashridge. I have just been up to the ashridge estate for the first time and was amazed at the amount of fallow deer and how close i could get to them. i got some beautiful pictures and will deffinately be visiting again. i would just love to see the rut up there, does anyone know the best place to watch this, is there any particular area of the estate that is use by the bucks each year. i would be very greatful for any information. Also for any bird watchers reading this there are a large amount of skylarks on ivinghoe beckon at the moment i hadat least 6 displaying at the same time. |

| | | Re: Fallow deer Ashridge. I was over at Ashridge today in all this lovely sunshine..Saw up to three different large groups of Fallow Deer on the opposite side of the main entrance to the monument..there is a area of open water about half way down towards the House on the right...they seem to always be around there...I visit at least once aweek now and can always spot plenty around..the field which has the young cattle had over twenty today ..also under the large groups of laurel bushes you should check out for muntjac Deer..

Ann | I remember a walk round Ashridge I also saw many deer in a large field seen from the woods, and to the South East of the monument. I wonder if this is the same place?
