| | | Is this a woodmouse too? Seem to have another mouse feeding from the overspill of seed at the bottom of my garden. It is darker than the woodmouse that feeds at the other feeders nearer the house. Is it a woodmouse too?
Woodmouse?
Bashful!

Lovely pics

| | | Re: Is this a woodmouse too? I have a young mouse living at the bottom of my garden underneath my decking(at least i think it is and hope not a brown rat as my garden is next to a canal).I recently noticed that my fats balls and peanuts were being eaten quicker than usual. They had been blown down onto the decking by the wind.At 2pm today a little rodent was happily popping between my daughters slide and underneath the blossom tree(yes I have built decking around a tree). As we left room for it swaying I think that it is coming up thru the hole or thru the gap in the bottom corner of the decking. The rodent spent 45mins popping out into the shade of the tree.Unfortunately it is very shy so have not yet been able to get a pic.I think that it is either a doormouse or woodmouse. Can anyone post some pics to help me identify it. I dont mind as I have lots of wildlife around me from moorhens, swans, ducks,a heron, birds, hedgehogs,a fox, squirrel etc.I think that due to my dog we are the only garden free of cats so it has sought refuge in my garden. The only thing that worries me is that I may end up with a rats nest due to the canal being over my fence.I have nothing against rats except the diseases that they carry and my phobia of rats.Mice I love and I have two Chinchillas as pets and have in the past had rabbits so I am not anti rodent at all.I used to have a garden full of slugs eating my plants and veg but the hedgehog seems to have cured this problem luckily.I also had butterflies laying eggs all over my veg last year which was nice to see them flourishing but a shame that the caterpillars ate all my veg. |
