| | | Why do cats bury there poo, do any wild animals? They don't bury it very deep so it can't be to mask their scent..... can it?
Are there any other examples in our habitat that do this...... over to you guys n gals |

| | | Re: Why do cats bury there poo, do any wild animals? In the wild, secondary cats bury, yes it is to hide their scent.
The dominant cat displays its faeces in a prominent position. I cannot think of another animal that buries, interesting question.

| | | Re: Why do cats bury there poo, do any wild animals? No wild animals bury it, although several use latrines. Other than the wild cat of course which burys none territorial droppings, just like domestic cats. |

| | | Re: Why do cats bury there poo, do any wild animals? Our neighbours cats don't bury their poo in our garden, it's left where you can easily walk in it or the dogs can smell it! In our previous house though, the next door neighbour's cat buried poo only after I had been digging in the garden, so presumably the soil would have been easy to excavate.

| | | Re: Why do cats bury there poo, do any wild animals? Back home they would toss soil over it in the freshly dug borders ,lucky i wore gloves when planting. On gravel areas or on the lawn it was just left where it fell. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
