| | | Weasel Visit I was lucky enough to see a weasel passing through my garden this morning.
I've seen weasels before in the wild, but never so close to buildings. How rather an event is this ?

| | | Re: Weasel Visit Well I can count on one hand how many times I have seen a weasel in my lifetime and I work outdoors quite a bit. So I'd say you're very lucky and that this doesn't happen that often! |

That could just mean shrubs or overgrown vegetation in a garden!
I once saw one at Mill Dale, running across the path and virtually between the feet of people who were standing around eating ice-creams!
He disappeared into a hole in the wall.
And another dragging a dead Rabbit from the middle of a country lane, right in front of someones house!
In both cases, cover wasn't far away though, so I think this is the main thing that matters to them.

| | | Re: Weasel Visit Many thanks for the responses.
Sorry about the post. It should have read: How "rare" an event is this !!
But you obviously understood what I meant.
I live in a hamlet, surrounded by farmland, but with quite a few buildings immediately adjacent to my house. Even so, I was still astonished by this wonderful sight.
Is it possible that a family of weasels has moved into the neighbourhood ?

| | | Re: Weasel Visit Weasels are territorial so they may have moved in, lucky you. I have seen a few but only ever by chance, usually when I sit quietly for a while.
