| | | Re: I have rat under my shed Well we all have our own opinions of how to get rid of rats, but with children in the garden they are quite dangerous because of the diseases they carry.
Im not a great lover of poison because it does cause a lingering death, rat traps work when they feel like it, to capture the rat is not good idea because of the diseases they carry and you have to be careful how you handle them , plus the amount of fuel you use driving it around the district trying to find a place to let it go, then when you drop it off it gives someone else the problem,
I will probaly get slated by my opinion, but id get someone in to shoot them , which is instant with no suffering , failing that option it would have to be poison, because you have to think of your family using the garden rats and children dont go together. sheila

| | | Re: I have rat under my shed I think that's a good idea actually, sheila, a clean kill. I don't think anyone feels comfortable with killing animals just because they don't fit in with "our lifestyle" and are actually quite dangerous to us, so yes, the quicker the better

The one place not to touch on a rat is the tail, it's the tail that drags on the ground in the urine. I go for the scruff of the neck (on a dead one that is) and of course wash my hands afterwards with antibact. |

| | | Re: I have rat under my shed I don't touch them, just sweep them up with a dustpan and brush, then bleach this afterwards.
