| | | Where to see Wild Boar I am going to be heading to the Kent / East Sussex boarder looking for wild boar. Can anyone suggest a place to start looking? A grid reference would be ideal.
Thanks Very Much |

| | | Re: Where to see Wild Boar I think about the Wild Boar every time I go for a walk, goes back to a time when I lived In a very small village just outside Tunbridge Wells and read a Newspaper article on the predicted numbers and of their whereabouts. They say If you come across them you should stand perfectly Still, don't think I'd be able to do that somehow.
Bixley Wood near Four Oaks TQ857235, there have been recent sightings there. Id be interested to know where you go or If your lucky enough to see any, most people don't. |

| | | Re: Where to see Wild Boar As one that lives close to the Kent/Sussex border and the area that you speak of, I can confirm the woods there are home to wild boar. I have seen them in the flesh, as well as plenty of tell-tale signs of their presence, including rubbing posts, tracks, wallowing holes, rooted up farmland, etc.
See this website which will give you mopre information on what to look for and where: Wild Boar in Britain

| | | Re: Where to see Wild Boar They can be seen in broad daylight. Both my sightings have been so. I would love to do a nightime watch though

| | | Re: Where to see Wild Boar If you are seriously wanting to spot these creatures, may I suggest you contact our resident expert, ex-gamekeeper Derek Harman. This is the chap that is often interviewed in the papers and on the tv regarding boar sightings. Tel: 01797 270 786. He is the man who facilitated my first sighting, we went out in a small group led by him. Important notice:
Woodlands in East West Sussex are constantly being visited by poacher after the Wild Boar there, if you see or know of anything, then could you please contact Derek Harman, Tel: 01797 270 786.
Cheers,
D.
