| | | Otter print second opinion I have found what looks like a classical otter print, the habitat a river surrounded by farmland and woodland is ideal. The only problem is ive never seen an otter print before (other than in books). So am looking for a second opinion on this one. It is also the exact size that it shows in my books.
Im 99% sure it is one.
I believe this shows the right hind foot.
On the second one just to make it alittle more clear I have highlighted the depressions in the print.
Cheers. |

Yes I would say definetly an Otter. You should also be able to find spraints, look particulrly along river or stream bank on anything that might raise the spraint and allow the scent to waft. Particular good are large round rocks and it is useful to place such a rock and then ceheck it from time to time. Particular look under bridges. If you suspect an Otter Spraint the real give away is they smell sweet, like musk and once semlt you will always remember the smell.
Great news.
I have just heard some brilliant news for Bedfordshire, an 8 week pup (or kit I never know) was found by the Great Ouse and has been rescued. This is the first proved breeding for the area and whilst there is thriving population it is really exciting.
