Yes there is that risk, so they are "kept" to a certain area of the Forest away from the Reds by Forestry Commission Keepers by culling any strays.
As a result (from DNA testing) the Sika of the new Forest are about the purest wild herd in the country. |

Nice work Keith, The group shot with the 3 good stags is a belter!
I picked up a huge Sika antler there last year, only the one though, spent ages looking for the other!
