Lucky you Alison, this pics you've taken are just fab and so close too!
I had a similar encounter a while ago....but no camera with me as I just wouldn't have expected it where I was. I know better now though!

| | | Re: Mr Wiley again No sign of him today despite me standing in the middle of a field making kissing noises. Must have looked like a right plonker.
Looks like I'm cooking chicken for tea!! |

Use a megaphone, you just may attract more than the fox though

| | | Re: Mr Wiley again Fantastic shots and experience , just a note of caution though , it may be that as mentioned previously on this thread that the Fox has been fed before and is loseing its fear of people .
Not suggesting that you will go down this road and encourage the Fox to come to you as it expects food , but in similar circumstances some Foxes have become almost tame and take food from hand and have suffered from injury from their association with people including dogs/cats/vehicles .

| | | Re: My new friend Mr Wiley Fox Those photos are amazing! I've had a couple of close encounters with foxes in Glasgow, but always when I least expect it and I never have a camera on me. I love the way they look you right in the eyes for a few seconds before running off, it gives you a shiver down the spine. The last time was when I was visiting a friend in Hyndland, and it was blocking the path to her flat! We had a brief face-off and it scarpered. |

Pictures aren't too good I'm afraid |
