| | | Birmingham's nightlife Why, oh why is it, is there a law, a dictate, a commandment? Why is it I never have a camera handy? I leave my Dad's place this evening prepared to slip and slide my way down the hill as I spot a movement in the Oleander. Can't be the cats as they are playing hearth rugs. I'm two metres away from the bush and out walks a fox, carefree, unworried. It glanced at me, stopped for a second, hopped up onto the garden wall, squatted a minute or two then jumped down walked back towards me and then off across the road. By now I am blue and gasping for air. I watched it saunter back over the road towards Dad's garbage bags, assume a threat posture then back off. A half second later a larger fox walked from behind the bags and ambled, (only word for the way it went), ambled down the road.
I know we have a bundle of foxes around here, I see them all the time, hear them often too. I've just never seen two so unconcerned by the presence of a human. One step and I could have touched the larger fox.
A wonderful end to the day. BUT...
I want to know why I never get a ruddy photo. I cart the blasted camera around with me when I go walking and only see sheep. I leave it at home and wonders happen. What am I being punished for?

| | | Re: Birmingham's nightlife Guaranteed! It's the same thing that happens on the one day you leave your binoculars at home...
Good experience though, and that's the main thing.

| | | Re: Birmingham's nightlife My little fox comes right to my feet for food, so close I could bend down and touch her ( I wouldn't of course ) but as soon as I try to get my camera out of it's case she's off. I can make any other movements which don't bother her at all, it's just the camera A friend offered to stand back to take a photo but the little vixen ran off, good thing really, I don't want her trusting everyone. BUT no photo I'm afraid. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
