| | | Painless/Humane Rat killer anyone ? hi, yet again we have a rat !
last year we bought a humane rat trap, we caught 8 baby rats and let them go in a field. but this had its dangers and the cage wasnt very good and one of them got out while carrying it. we dont seem to be able to catch the big rats in it at all.
this year now we have the start, just one big rat and we dont want this getting out of hand again, but i also do not want to cause pain and suffering to the rat, we must get this one very soon so we dont have to deal with loads more.
i came across a stuff called Eradirat and also Rat Zapper ultra , the latter a bit expensive tho.
does anyone know if these are really painless, or know of anything else that is ?
thankyou. |

| | | Re: Painless/Humane Rat killer anyone ? I've used eradirat on one job thus far and it did OK, took longer than 'conventional' (difenacoum etc) baits though.
A mark 4 Fenn trap set properly will do the job instantly, as would an air rifle in skilled hands.
Whereabouts are you?

| | | Re: Painless/Humane Rat killer anyone ? hi James.
im not sure eradirat is a good idea for us, as i found out it starves the rat.
i want a quick painless death for it.
i dont want to harm any other wildlife in the process, so all in all its a tricky situation.
an air rifle is a bit tricky too where i live (kent), dont wish to injure any neighbours.
thanks for trying to help |

| | | Re: Painless/Humane Rat killer anyone ? Sometimes it is the only logical choice. It worked a treat sorting out our mouse problem.
And no, no one likes killing anything but co-habiting with rats and mice isn't practical. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
