| | | fox sounds Does anyone know of a site where I can listen to the different sounds and what they indicate of the red fox. They make a lot of sounds when I go up to feed them but I would like to know what each sound means, I've been into Google but haven't had much joy there, thanks Pat |

| | | Hi Stuart. I've just tried all those links and found them really fascinating. ( you know what I'm like with foxes ) When I go up at night to feed them one particular fox comes tearing over making an awful screaming noise, this apparently means 'this is my territory keep away' I found it all very informative. Thanks. Pat |

| | | Hi Pat, are you going to hold conversations with the foxes? It still must be interesting to have some knowledge of what they are 'saying' among themselves. Keeep up the good work, your pictures are always enjoyed. Ciao Wildone |

Thanks. Pat | Sounds like you have a good number of foxes visiting. We have a couple of regulars, but one (the vixen) scoots away immediately. The other is totally relaxed but never makes any noise. He did when the cubs were about (generally a low growl).
We heard lots of cub noises over the summer. If they became too frantic, the dog fox would take an interest and go and make sure things were ok (especially if the fix sounds were accompanied by dog barks). |

| | I've got 7 currently, last years foxes have gone to find a new territory apart from the mother the other 6 are last years cubs. They're very tame with me but if anybody else walks by or a car comes along they're off. They know my car and often follow it up the lane when I drive up. Pat |

| | | 7 foxes... that's amazing. The most we've had in the garden at one time was four. Two adults and two cubs. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
