| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks Welcome to Wild About Britain, Sam!
Are you asking about what their tracks look like, or where you can see there tracks in the UK? Sorry, it must be the time of night - I think I'm tired, I'll re-post tomorrow
I like your avatar by the way, he must have been comfortable in your company

| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks I heard them screaming, barking and generally "creating" in my road last night around midnight. It must be "that" time of year

| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks I don't see them much to be honest. I live in the middle of nowhere and the only two occasions I saw them last year were when I took my girlfriend home to Stevenage and one bolted across the road and then a few weeks ago, a similar sighting in Norwich. |

| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks Foxes are one of the easiest animals to track because of
a) the musty smell
b) the amount of debris left outside the den
its easy to confused a dog (usually Terriers) paw print with a foxes, but if you imagine an straight line going accross the forward tips of the two rear/outer toes they wont dissect the two forward toes. If the line does cut accross them, its a dog. There are lots of good books that will help, but actually getting out there and looking for yourself as much as possible is the very best way to learn.
Look for old badgers setts with feathers etc littered around the entrance, but as ever have a thought for disturbing the animals. Patience is the greatest part of observing anything
good luck! |

| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks Hi Sam, Are you trying to watch foxes? The OH works sometimes drives to work through the London Borough of Harrow (a suburban part of North London) at 5 am in the morning and apparently he sees loads. So I imagine the outskirts of a town in the early hours is a good place to start.
They are common round us. In the countryside they are much more difficult to come across, but fantastic fun to track in the snow, I hear

| | | Re: Fox sitings or tracks She probably didn't know you were 11 - you did initially ask ' hi please tell me were you saw the Fox or tracks' so I assumed it was an open-ended question. Sorry about that Sam
So is that North-east UK then? Given personal information and that you wisely may not want to give your county, so I suggest you look around the forum and find a member who lives in your area. Maybe PM them and enquire - 'local intelligence' is a great thing!
Good luck - it's nice to see young people with an interest in wildlife - we have several here
