I wonder how long they will take to reach Essex  .
I think I will be travelling to Scotland to watch and photograph them for a while yet!

Richard | Richard I love your pics of the Pine martens, especially the first one, cracking pics! I'm still hopeful of seeing one!  Am I right in thinking that dusk and dawn are the best times to see one? I've heard there is a hide in Aviemore where they can sometimes be seen, but I don't know where it is. If you know, but don't want to say on a public forum you can pm me re this.

The first photo was taken here .... Speyside Wildlife
The second photo was taken from the window of a chalet here .... Birchbrae
I have to say these were easy sightings but I have seen a few more brief sightings of Pine Martens in the Scottish Highlands mostly early in the morning or late in the evening.

As the VWT pointed out some years ago, it could be very important to find this sort of thing out before anyone starts a re-introduction scheme. |
