| | | Re: Winter bats It is quite usual for bats to feed in the winter if there are sufficient insects flying. Bats are clever enough only to feed when there are sufficient insects about to restore their energy reserves, so this behaviour will do them no harm at all. Bats will also fly from roost to roost if the weather changes significantly - if it becomes warmer or colder. This is when it could do them harm, but they move to a more suitable temperature and as long as they started the winter with good food reserves, they will be all right.

| | | Re: Winter bats I accept that the low temperatures will mean that the bats would use up more energy than usual but ,if they have to go out for a dump anyway, they might as well pick up a "Big gnat & flies" while they're out.
