| | | Is this a rat or a vowl Can anyone help me as new to forum. Are the below pictures I have taken of a brown rat or a vowl. One of my neighbours up the road have two in her garden as well. her Mum thinks they are vowls. Personally I think it is a rat. |

| | | Re: Is this a rat or a vowl The pointy nose is a giveaway (voles have blunt noses, like guinea pigs).
Voles' tails are dark and fur-covered, where rats' tails are pink/grey and naked.
Voles' ears are small and close to the head so you can hardly see them, but rats' ears stick up. |
