| | | Help needed identifying constipated rodent Every week I grind and melt suet for the birds. I mix it with flour and put it in a big stainless steel bowl in the shed. Recently I've been seeing teethmarks, lots of them. Some little fella is scratching away with two sharp little teeth. The teeth are about 1mm each and I can just see the space between them in the marks left. The odd thing is that I can't find any droppings. My first thought was a mouse, but why are there no pellets? I feared a rat, but the teeth are too small and I doubt he'd have left me any suet after a day or two. I built the shed and I reckoned it was pretty rodent-proof, so it must be something small. Any ideas?
Pete

| | | Re: Help needed identifying constipated rodent Thanks for that. I'm still confused by the lack of droppings.
I'll see if I can trap him and release him somewhere - I'll get
photos if I do.

| | | Re: Help needed identifying constipated rodent Hi Pete, we have mice in our garden shed, I only noticed when I picked up a bag of grass seed to discover no seeds, only husks. I thought the shed was mouse proof until I discovered they had gnawed the door sill just enough to get in and out - they only need a very small crevice to get in.
