| | | Hedgehogs I have started getting a hedgehog in the garden at night. Does anyone know if they travel a great distance or do they confine themselves to small areas. Just wondering as to where he is staying during the day. Also my local pet shop said that they would be getting some hedgehog food in soon, which i thought was interesting. I have been putting some food out for them but I am afraid that next doors cats having been eating it. Can anyone suggest anything that the cays will leave alone?
Thanks.. |

'yes they walk miles
will be proabably staying under a bush or in a nest some where
feed under a slab so that hoggy can fit but cats can't
or cage
or put out chopped nuts and sunflower hearts, cats don't like them' |

| | | Re: Hedgehogs Hi, as already said they can walk miles, and they can move very fast if they need to. If you are going to put food out, please put water out as well, the ones in my garden were coming for it every night during that hot weather. I have what appears to be Mum and two young at one side of the garden and a much bigger one on the other side. I suppose he might be Dad, he does not worry even if we are out there he still come out and drinks his water from the dish has wander round then returns to the bushes. I can't feed as I risk attracting Rats from Farmyard next door. --------------------------------Cheers Roy |

| | | Re: Hedgehogs I think the Hedgehog is becoming a little rare nowadays. I drive 6-7 hundred miles per week and have only seen one squashed one. Although I wasn't looking then I'm sure I saw more in the past.
