| | | bats I will try keep this as short as possible
I moved into my new house this year to find a nursery in my roof. We had the usual things like babys coming into the house etc, bat group came who gave us advice etc.
We had a condenser boiler put in our attic, we had a letter from a wildlife organization saying it was ok as the bats had all gone by october but we paid quite a bit more money to have the vent through the roof rather than near the entrance to the eaves and bat box (in case they decided to use the bat box)
However my problem is the noise the combi boiler makes.
For anyone who has one they will know it comes on whenever water is ran or the heating is on. Like a humming. As it is so near where the bats nest when they do return will this bother them? they have been coming here for years and years and i dont want to put them off.
I am worried so any advice will be appreciated. |

| | | Re: bats Provided the noises comming from your combi are normal as in just the fan running and the burners roaring away pleasantly then you'll be fine.
Anything worse than acceptable levels of noise should be investigated like dodgy fan, restriction on ther hot water, noisy pump etc.
Other than that i've found mice and rats nesting under really really noisy oil burners so i think you're ok. And the bats will be very loyal to their nest and very clean, welcome visitors to have too. |
