| | | Fox cub video Two of the cubs showed up this evening. It's the first time for a little while that we've seen more than one at a time. They decided to put on a fabulous display of 'fighting'. I got more or less the whole 5 minutes on video despite the gloom. Low band width version High band width version
Both versions require Windows Media Player. |

| | | Re: Fox cub video Beautiful video. For 14 years we watched the various foxes in our garden and regularly left out scraps for them including Marmite sandwiches which, according to a fox site I went to, help protect them from mange. Last year, one of the females brought her really tiny cubs into the garden. We felt very lucky. One evening, after their visit, we realised that one had been left behind. He was caught by his leg in the wooden fencing. So I sent my other half to help him out. Donning our strongest gardening gloves, he went to help. The first thing the fox cub did was bite him!! Fortunately, the thornproof gloves turned out to be fox cub teeth proof too! The little one was free and ran away, seeming none the worse for his adventure. It reminded me of the day, I rescued a mouse from the jaws of one of my cats - its thanks to me? Yes, it bit me!
We have moved from the house where all this happened and while I love where we live, I do miss "my" foxes! |

Mind you, one of them has a tendency to wrap its jaw round my wife's hand Apparently it's quite gentle, but they can certainly make short business of prey. Handling a trapped cub is quite a different matter though. I keep my hands well clear even with the young ones.
Glad the cub was ok! |
