I cannot think of anything else it could be. | Just to confirm that the last time my dog rolled in fox poo i did try bathing him with tomato sauce. You have to rub it well in and then rinse thoroughly.Must say it worked!! Mind you he did smell like a hotdog lol!

| | | Re: Fox Poo question? As blueboar said earlier, fox poo has a characteristic thin curl at one end. I've seen loads of fox poo containing blackberries, even my dog likes to eat blackberries, he picks off the ripe ones

| But we dont have a size? cat faeces varies largely in size as does that of every mammal. Ive seen hog droppings of two inches in length which is the size of a small fox or cat scat.
Regarding foxes having a curl at the tip of the dropping it depends on what its been eating, if its eaten alot of fur and feathers this curl will be present, it its fed on scraps, beetles, worms, seeds, fruit etc you dont always see this curl and you can also get a dropping that go's to a point or it can end bluntly like that of a dog. Fox droppings dont always have a strong scent, the droppings associated with this strong smell are ones that are used to mark territory and are found in exposed locations. Another non-territorial form of the dropping has little scent. |

As an aside, according to my sister-in-law, the best stuff to remove the fox poo out of the dog's hair is .... tomato ketchup! Never tried it myself, but then I do not roll around in fox oeoeoeoe or have much hair now, either.
Handyman | LOL Tomato ketchup! I'll definitely remember that one, although I lost my dog to cancer last December but look after 2 JR's for a friend, so that's come in handy. Thanks |

| | | Re: Fox Poo question? Can anyone help? This morning I found droppings in a narrow flower bed along the front of my house (in small gravelled front garden). The droppings were around a lavender plant that I have recently had to replace as the first died although the other four next to it were fine. On several occasions there is evidence in the monring of some animal activity kicking up the soil but these were the first droppings. They were in the form of a string of sausages but about 3cm long by 1.5cm wide. Is this likely to have been a fox as they are in the area (urban)? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
