Hi
Lots of good advice here and all I can add is that having photographed deer in the New Forest which is obviously vast but thoroughly exciting because it is unpredictable and real wildlife it has meant that although we often explore new areas which is always exciting we always go back to the same favourite areas perioically and study the deer we know and have become familiar with thier habits and movements and can now find them but that does not guarantee a quality photo so much depends on the weather, habitat they decide to move in, lighting and who else is about to disturb them etc etc but the fun is all those things because if we could just walk and get a quality photo straight away we would not learn so much or see so many amazing other things in the process quite unexpectantly

Thats the fun of the wild situations rather than the captive. We have taken photos of red kites, water voles, etc that we had not set out to find but just found on the walks. I have learnt so much in just a year so take heart from my photos and I am still learning and enjoying the journey

Good luck and ill check your
Gallery to see how you get on when you get those photos the thrill will be worth it
