| | | More Mammal Pics Needed I've just been adding photos from the Gallery to the Mammal encyclopedia, but unfortunately we're missing a few pics to complete the set.
If you've got any photographs of the following British mammals, please could you add them to the Gallery so we can include them in the encyclopedia.
Thanks
Stu

| | | Re: More Mammal Pics Needed I have a photo of a minke whale (well, the dorsal fin anyway...) but it was taken in Canada, not the UK. I'd offer it anyway but I'm sure someone else on here has seen them off Scotland
I just looked up the entry on the fox and to be honest I'm not sure about the inference that they're principally nocturnal as when they're not persecuted they're active at all hours. Also, I am unaware of any studies showing that hedgehogs are a substantial part of their diet (certainly less than voles, which aren't mentioned) and it's well established that surplus killing takes place because of the confined situation of chicken runs. Foxes normally cache extra food.

I don't suppose I'd get away with uploading a Canadian bear photo too but if anyone's interested, some of my other Canadian wildlife pictures can be found here, below the fox pics, mixed up with the odd British robin and American wolf hybrid... Quote: |

Stu | Will do, when I have a moment.

As he is not being pushy about it I will Go on everyone click the link.It is great ther is lots of info on the site which Stuart himself has put there and it is very interesting.A way of learning about world wildlife and the problems they have and maybe the more people learn about it the more one day we will all be able to learn from it and protect all wildlife worldwide. |

. | I have been there already but the trouble is that all my foreign species pics were taken in captivity so may not be what he wants. Also I would suspect that Stu wants people from around the world to sign up rather than just cloning the WAB membership - I could be wrong though .

I think I'll upload some of my Canadian and US mammal pictures at any rate. I only wish I'd had a camera of my own when I saw that gorgeous Canadian lynx sitting in the boreal forest six years ago, but, well, rueing missed opportunities is a photographer's staple diet.
