| | | Lynx At the risk of starting another flame war about release of large(ish) predators in Scotland, here is a piece from yesterdays online Observer calling for the return of the Lynx to Scotland Scotland: Wildlife expert calls for return of missing lynx | Environment | The Observer
If there are still groups of farmers who can't stand the idea of native birds like WT Eagle returning, what hope is there for a cat? Would the Lynx really take deer and not sheep?
I certainly agree with one point he makes "The important thing is that the lynx could be here ecologically, and the only reasons it's not are political and social". It says alot about Britain's society and politics that many other European countries have returned their large predators, but not us. We're supposed to be a nation of animal lovers aren't we? |

| | | Re: Lynx The problem in the UK is all nearly all suitable land is privately owned, and most of it was obtained by foul means. Personally I'd like to see the government take back the land and give it to the people, and I fully support the re-introduction of large mammals. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
