| | | Young Hares The hares on my patch seem to have had a good breeding season, now the harvest has been completed, I am seeing a lot of youngsters about in various stages of development.
They are sometimes difficult to see and lie very still until you are almost upon them.
I took a picture of this little fella, only three parts grown. It shows how well their colouring blends in with the dead vegetation around them. |

Lovely pic - thanks for the reminder of hares. 
I particularly like mountain (white) hares in the Peak District near me - they too will stay quite still to allow fairly close photography. They should soon be starting to develop their winter white, when they can be more easily spotted against the higher rocky gritstone outcrops and peaty tops.(we have browns too of course but at lower level!) |

I've had two recently not move until the last minute, there so well camouflaged
