| | | muntjac... what habits?? I am trying to shoot pictures of muntjac (my local wildlife)
I anybody knows where they would be in the few hours before sunset and after sunrise??
I have read the article on this website, however it just says Sunrise/Sunset and Nighttime
also do they fool for camouflage clothing??
any help is rewarded with nice pictures (other peoples avatars )
Thanks in advance

| | | Re: muntjac... what habits?? Dawn and dusk are always your best times for deer. Camo/dull clothing always improves your chances of not being seen. The best habitat to look in is dense woodland particularly deciduous with a good thick layer of undergrowth this is the key to their habitat choice, they use it to hide in and feed in. |

| | | Re: muntjac... what habits?? Muntjac are also quite active during the day, especially the middle of the day. I see them fairly frequently in my garden in broad daylight, pottering around feeding.

| | | Re: muntjac... what habits?? Like Henrya I often see them during the day, at any time really. They tend to stick to woodland or along hedgerows, etc and we mainly see them eating the windfall apples in the garden. I think they're the shyest of all the deer that I come across.

| | | Re: muntjac... what habits?? I think sometimes they have 'beats', so if you see one at twelve fifteen one day it it's worth looking in the same place at the same time the next day. No guarantees, but may be worth a try
