| | Re: A wood mouse as a pet? I think you have done a marvellous job!
You have done the best thing by releasing it when you did, wild animals don't do well in captivity and I know from experience that they WILL escape into the house sooner or later. Then they are at severe risk from the cat.
Doing the right thing by releasing it is hard, especially if you have a little one wanting a pet, but you have the comfort of knowing it now has a good chance to survive in its own habitat. |

| | | Re: A wood mouse as a pet? I can only guess the little mouse made it, my daughters (4yrs & 2yrs!!) jumped out of bed this morning before 6am instructing me that we had to check on the mouse. Once downstairs I explained that I had released the little mouse and why and they completely understood, wellies on and they were straight out there to check on the box to find no mouse but a slug in the box instead. They are chuffed to think the little mouse is living in our garden!! We never considered keeping her as a pet but are content with the thought that she and her family live in and around our garden.. |

Wood Mice sometimes come into houses and make a nuisance of themselves, like house mice. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
