On The Rocks

Hi folks,
Iv'e just got back from holiday up in Scotland and wanted to share these pics with you all, We went for a walk along by the old Seafield pit site where we know seals haul out to sun themselves, the tide was out and the rocks were exposed on the shore side for once, Elly, my wife sat up at the ruin and read her book while I scrambled over some small rocks to the main ones , I had to climb up the rock face about 12 feet on finger and toe holds , then eased myself over the top and lay still, about 40 feet away, Common Seals and 6 feet from them were Grey Seals, dozing, I wriggled myself over the top of the rocks to-wards them , rucksack on my back, binoculars round my neck and my camera on my hip, "just a wee bit more" got the camera out and got some cracking shots ,

Hello Duncan, what wonderful photos you have got there! quite a job it sounds to get them too. The first photo, the seal looks like it's winking at you! Looking forward to the write-up in the not to distant future.

Great shots Duncan, was it pouring when you photographed them, it looks like rain, especially in the second shot. Weather has been terrible fup here for the past week, hope your holiday wasn't ruined.

Hi folks ,
Thanks for your kind words, and in answer to Ron's question , as I was wriggling over the rock, my bins scraped the rock and alerted the Common Seal that is looking at me , then the heavens opened , where was my waterproof ?, in my rucksack of course , so I stood up and the two seals nearest me took to the water, the Grey Seals still dozing, I climbed back down the rock face and ran for cover to the ruin , then gave up , I was already soaking, Huh!, Elly was still sitting reading her book, "look at you" she says " your'e Drenched" What an understatement that was,
But I got some good pics so it was worth it,
