| | | Baby woodmouse urgent advice please Hi all, have just retrieved what I think is a baby woodmouse from one of my cats, is uninjured (got to it very quickly), what should I do with it? Will it survive without its mum? If I put it back where she caught it, it will only get caught again quite quickly.
Any advice please

| | | Re: Baby woodmouse urgent advice please Hi Jen, I have loads of Wood Mice in my garden, they do leave the nest when they are quite small, I would throw chopped peanuts, or anything you have that mice like into the place where you put him, if he does nt have to come out searching for food, puss can t get him. | | | Re: Baby woodmouse urgent advice please Thank you everyone for your replies. As I said I let the first one go, as he seemed strong and healthy. I say first one because, retrieved another of the cat last night and found another this morning. Both these two are slightly younger than the first and still have their eyes closed. The one saved last night survived through the night and the other is getting stronger (fingers crossed) by the hour. They both appeared dehydrated so have been managing to get them to lick water from my finger. The first of the two is eating seed quite happily but have not seen the other eat yet (he seems to have had one ear chewed off by something, but not bleeding or anything!) I am making sure they drink regularly and as soon as they open their eyes I'll release them to the relative safety of the wood pile. I'll try to post some pics when I get a minute.
Wish me luck
