Hi all,
we were over at Fowlmead to-day and spotted what I think is a field vole up an Elder tree, we watched it for a couple of minutes. It was going down one branch and up another
I did manage to get a few pics but they are not very good, Iv'e put the best one up.

The ears seem prominent enough for Bank Vole - have you a pict showing tali length?

We had a photo a week or so back of a water vole climbing up a bramble. Clearly these vole-types are nimbler than you'd think! |

Sorry Guys,
There were 4 pics and none of them show the tail , It was probably down to help with ballance, and it was facing me, do you think that it's a bank vole as opposed to a field vole then?

As Henrya says its a bank vole the prominent ears as well as the red/brown back and grey sides confirm this. Field voles have smaller ears, and are a paler brown with less grey. | | |
