Who has buried raw meat in the compost heap

My compost heap at the moment is lovely crumbly soil which I have been using for the past few weeks and today right in the middle something has buried some raw meat. They look like ribs from one side of an animal (not sure what you'd call it if buying from the butchers) but definitely quite fresh. I've binned it as I don't put any meat etc in the compost. This is a suburban garden, fenced all round on the outskirts of London. There are numerous foxes around and plenty of Badger although I've never seen a Badger in the garden. I'm sure it's got to be one of these. Any ideas?

I suspect a Fox is the culprit- they often cache surplus food. I've found Canada Goose eggs buried by Foxes + once a drake Mallard!

Fox. I find all sorts of bones in my flower beds!

I agree foxes are renowned for having food "caches" like this.
