| | | Re: Wild Rabbit Cazzie a Commander on WAB had the same thing happen only the other week! She just kept the rabbit over night feed it some greens and kept it in a cage over night! The rabbit was all well and good so the next day she released it in a suitable habitat as far away from her neighbours cat!
Hope yours makes it too!
P.s forgot to say welcome to WAB

| | | Re: Wild Rabbit are its eyes open? does it look like a proper miniture adult or something younger? try not to handle it, shock can kill these little fellas very quickly and human smell on it won't make it popular if you release it.
try a 'wildlife rescue' search on the yellow pages yell.com website |

| | | Re: Wild Rabbit My cat has brought a couple of baby rabbits home over the years and boy can't they squeal, one it kindly released in the house and left me to catch it again, a time when I wished I'd closed all the internal doors, it was a bit like candid camera, the second I managed to get off it on the patio, both times I shut the cat up, put on my Marigolds and after checking the bunnies were ok, took them across the field to the scrub where they must have come from and released them straight away and they hopped off into the bushes. |

| | | Re: Wild Rabbit Thanks for the responses folks,i phoned the RSPCA who asked about the rabbit then advised me to let it go in a wooded area ,so took it to roughly where the cat would have got it and released it but am concerned as it was with us for two days and would have human scent on it. My head tells me i did what i could but find myself worrying about it..
I know am daft but i cant be the only one eh..... |

| | | Re: Wild Rabbit I wouldnt personally have thought the RSPCA gave you great advice there, 1st was the rabbit well developed? 2nd rabbits dont favour woodland they live in meadow, copse, farmland, wasteland, heath etc. But to late to worry now you did your best. |

| | | Re: Wild Rabbit I wouldn't worry that the rabbit had your scent on it. It won't cause any problems. Were there other rabbits in the area you released it? If so, it should be fine but as Dogghound says, a grassland area (where you know there are other rabbits) would be better in the future should you have any more.
