This hole appered in my garden recently, and I was wondering if it was possible to tell what might live there.
My first thought was a rat, but I would like to know if there was any chance of it being something else. (i'll share my garden with anything but a rat)
BTW the drain in the picture is a soakaway drain not a sewer drain.   |

It does look like Rats but do they dig themselves or just occupy holes dug by other animals ? That is something I'd like to know the answer to.

Is it not a bit small for a rat? Our rat holes were much bigger than that. (Mind you, I suppose it depends how much they're being used.) |

I dont think its a rat, it looks too tidy (and small). I think a vole of some sort. |

I'm not sure it's a rat either - not enough workings round it. Is that the only hole? |

I think mouse..We had on that size a toad claimed..The mice are active now, I see mine on the patio every day.. |

sorry but i still think rat,the reason being i have a very neat round hole in the bottom of my garden,underneath the waterfall,i know its a rat because i have seen it,ask garden carpet she saw it too. | | | |
