| | | Stoat/Weasel/Bird! Ah i am so happy!!! I was sitting in my livingroom and noticed something streak past the window. It was out in the back courtyard of the steading and obviously couldnt find a way out. It went past again and it was either a stoat or a weasel but im leaning towards weasel. It was smaller, ginger and i couldnt see a black tip on the tail. It had something in its mouth, a mouse maybe! Is it a strange time to see one? 10.22 am. It eventually saw the gap in the stone and ran away.
Also yesterday i was driving to a local park and as i drove up a country lane that goes over a motorway sometihng huge took off from the fence. I only caught a glimpse of its back and wings. It was dark with lots of white speckles. Any ideas? Iv seen buzzards about before. It caused me to put on the breaks and reverse to see it. Glad noone was behind me.....
I love where i live! So much wildlife! |

| | | Re: Stoat/Weasel/Bird! Its not unusual to see either stoats or weasels during the day. They both have afew hours of activity alternating with afew hours rest throughout a 24 hour period. |

| | | Re: Stoat/Weasel/Bird! I saw a stoat last week while sitting on a hillside. I caught some movement from the corner of my eye and there was the stoat, bouncing around and running in circles down the hill in plain view as it was a grassy slope. As soon as it saw me it turned tail and bounced off up the hill but it was a lovely, rare sight.
Your very lucky Amylou to see either a Weasel or a Stoat in your garden. I've only ever caught rare glimpses of them. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
