hya Ileave early for work most days 5-30 and the foxs I see you wont belive as i work some twenty miles from home do you think we have more inthe city now i do

In certain places where I live foxes are seen if Im out late, everytime. Mind you I also see them often during the day in gardens opposite a park nearby and in Regents park last week a fox was strolling about right past shocked tourists and ended up less than 1m away from me at one point!

There have been urban foxes for many years now, in fact there are probably more foxes in our towns and cities than in the "countryside"

I also see a lot more foxes in cities than the countryside but last week I was walking in my local wood when I spotted this pregnant vixen sunbathing. She allowed me to get to around fifty yard from her then she ambled off into the trees. That's when I noticed the swollen stomach and assume she is either pregnant or well fed.

She probably was pregnant, vixens usually give birth around the middle of March and the cubs usually venture out at the end of May or begining of June. I've been feeding foxes for some years now and we've got four pregnant vixens, I can't wait to see the cubs!

I've seen more foxes in cities, built up areas than the countryside around me, however, I believe this is more due to the countryside being fairly vast and therefore the foxes have lots of places to wander around unnoticed. In the city they're going to be more visible.

Have to agree with you, plus city foxes are more tolerant of humans so they do let you get fairly close to them. Country foxes usually disappear when they smell humans let alone see them.
