| | | Wood Mouse in the House Does anyone know if wood mice are a problem in the house?
We think we may have one living under the floorboards of our dining room (it's an old house in an urban area). We saw it this morning near the patio, gathering leaves (for nesting?) and it disappeared somewhere along the side of the house, too quickly to photograph. There is no distinctive smell and we haven't found droppings or heard anything, but there are lots of electric cables running under there and we're worried in case these are chewed through.
It seems so cute - do we really have to call out Pest Control? |

| | | Re: Wood Mouse in the House and there could be more than one, so the sooner you get a humane trap the better. Wood mice are continually trying to get into this house so I've resorted to sonic deterrents in most rooms, which work very well as long as you don't have any rodent pets |

henrya | A couple of years ago we made the mistake of leaving our campervan on our caravan pitch. (Disabled it from being started and came and went for a few weeks by car - thus saving money on fuel and mileage on the camper...)
Because of the big bird table we keep stocked there is a constant supply of wood/field mice in the wall - which is fine. We kept the stock of food in the camper........ and the mice got in - we don't know how - thankfully they bypassed the engine compartment - but everything inside the van got nibbled: loo roll, kitchen roll, carpet, bedding, even the cover of the dust buster hoover - which now has no suction cos there's a hole in the bag........ Fortunately they didnt get in the wardrobe and start of the waterproof clothing.........
Live trapping and removal is the best answer - in our case we had to bring the camper home!!

| | Re: Wood Mouse in the House Thanks to everyone for your advice.
We decided to try a sonic deterrent and bought JML Pest Sheild. Thought the little mouse had gone, but unfortunately, I found it dead on the patio this morning.
There are cats in the area, but I wonder if Pest Sheild caused this ... |
