| | | Re: Red squirrels at formby We had planned to visit there today but was told the disease has had a devastating effect on the red squirrels and there are not many left. I do not know if this is the official view as the national trust website is down.

Thanks for the link. I believe there has been a outbreak on Anglesey as well
trouble is with out breaks like this sick squirrels are easy prey for predators
and you cant be shore how many are still in the dreys. |

| | | Re: Red squirrels at formby I went 2nd Jan and they were certainly further back into the woods than ive ever seen them. still enough of them around to get enough photos though.
There is a lot of tree felling going on and i can imagine a few are hiding due to that too.
I guess we wont know til they are out and about more in spring to mate? |
