T | Hi Tursiops
I actually found (& bookmarked) that site myself last night. It's a useful one isn't it.
Thanks for the link though, as you wasn't to know.
I have already changed my photo titles on my PC to the correct names now.
Thanks for the help folks.

| No worries mate , that's the trouble with only having web access at work - I'm always about 18 hours behind .
It is a good site though. |

Now i think i am incorrect.
I don't think that 2nd pic is CWD John..........looks to large and don't they have some sort of rear protruding fang or similar.
In fact i am so useless with Deer id except Fallow i think they all look like Red to me in those pics.
Bring on the experts. | They are 2 seperate Deer species although very similar in size and appearance. You would have to study their hind quarters to learn how to distinguish between them at a distance cos one has higher back legs and so looks like it is stooping when it walks.
Muntjac (males) have tusks whereas Chinese Water Deer do not.
Here in Norfolk we have plenty of both species (there are more Chinese water Deer in Norfolk than the rest of the country put together). I have a very big garden and see them regularly in my garden. In fact my 2 dogs very nearly caught one a couple of weeks ago. They are very cute but can be very destructive to young trees. |

. | Sorry, but this is incorrect. Chinese Water Deer males have tusks as well, and usually much larger than those of Muntjac. Perhaps you meant to type 'antlers'?
