| | Daily walks to watch deer Hello to you all , im relatively new on WAB I live about 5 miles from minsmere, on the east coast. It as been a very wet day here and my husband has been rained off from work so we decided to go on our usual deer walk armed with video cam and bins. We were not out long when we saw our first herd of Red Deer, mostly females looking a bit grey in there winter coats, we managed to get very close to them due to wind direction and underfoot being so wet they didnt hear us on the undergrowth, we were dipping and diving between the evergreen gorse bushes to get as close as we could, we got some good video footage of them, we carried on walking again then we came across a muntjac he spotted us first and made a quick dash in the undergrowth not time to get the video he was gone in a flash. We had about a 2 mile walk and in that time we saw approx 37 deer, 1 muntjac, and it felt like 200 rabbitts. I have lived in the area all my life so I do know where to find the deer on a daily basis ,most exciting in the rut , I could not imagine where else in britain I would rather be its so exciting going for dog walks and not knowing what you may see when out and theres miles of countryside here you can not get bored its lovely . |

| | | Re: Daily walks to watch deer Wow. Lucky you. The sort of walk I would like. And such a wildlife productive part of the UK. If you do it again, would you mind doing some photos for us?

| | Re: Daily walks to watch deer Hello wild woman Yes sure I will get my husband to take his camera for some pics next time , I like to walk the walk daily but im useless with technology so thats why im the one with the bins around my neck and not the video cam or camera. But it is nice after the walk and you go home sit down near the fire with a nice cuppa and watch the video of the animals youve just seen. bliss. |

| | | Re: Daily walks to watch deer Hello and welcome to WAB.
I usually do my Red Deer spotting in the Scottish Highlands .... or Richmond Park in London.
I didn't realise there were Red Deer so close to me in Suffolk. Lucky you for having them even closer to home.
