| | | Re: Mammal of the day Another nice sight at work today, a weasel. I was just stood talking to the digger operator and i noticed it running across the path, about 50ft away. Two minutes later it was poking its head over the pile of stones next to the digger, it was no more than 5ft away. It was looking at us as if to say " what you doing in my territory!" It was amazing to see one so close! |

It crossed the road in front of the car; I was on a slow road and it crossed slowly so I got a very clear view of it. To be honest, I didn't even know what it was until I got home from work and could do a bit of research.

I know this is not today but so chuffed I had finally sorted out how to load pics, didn't think anybody would mind! This is a nightly occurance in my garden on the IOW.....then they dig up my lawn...but its worth it! Today the red squirrels were SO busy hiding their acorns in all my planters. What a joy |

| | | Re: Mammal of the day Hi.
My mammel of the day, (actually it was yesturday!) would have to be this Chinese Water Deer.
I pulled into the car park at St. Benets abbey by the river Bure in Norfolk at it was just sitting in a ditch watching the world go by. I managed to get a couple of pictures and then it bolted as workmen on the river started up some machinery. First one i've seen so really chuffed as I got photo's too! |

| | | Re: Mammal of the day This is not only my mammal of the day, but my mammal of the year - it's taken me about 3 months and lots of cold nights to conclusively prove there are badgers about half a mile from my suburban house, I'm so chuffed I thought I would share it with someone. |

| | | Re: Mammal of the day Has to be the large fox on our front lawn this morning at 7.15AM eating the bird food we had put out.
Nothing remarkable about that you might say, but we've lived in this village for 28 years and this is the first fox that we have seen around here. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
