That's the call i seam to hear the most. And if you can imitate you will get a response.The sounds that shiver me are when they are fighting, very vocal.
Interesting link Mark, but can not get the recordings to work.

I have had extremely confrontational foxes on my patio, in broad daylight. Sitting back on their haunches, wide eyed, ears back, teeth bared. But it all seems to be just posturing.
The sound, I think I enjoy most, is the infrequent, gentle warbling sound they make. Usually at night.

I love foxes and we leave food out in the garden for them, but they need to know their place. Any 'confrontation' marlarkey from them will get short shrift from me and they'll get a lesson in who's the top predator around here - even if it's just a good chasing!
