My daughter rang me today in a panic as there was a very young hedgehog running round her garden at 2 p.m. eating bird seed.
She managed to catch it and brought it round to me. The poor wee thing only weighed 283 grams.
After a meal of spike hedgehog food and some mealworms we took it off to Animals in Need sanctuary. The man was very helpful but said the hedgehogs chances were slim as we have had so many frosts.

At least it has a better chance with them than trying to survive in the wild. Fingers crossed.
