Brownsea Island

Just thought I'd share this with everyone-I was at Brownsea this Spring in the most atrocious weather, jujst waiting for a red squirrel. Ne'ery a flash or whirl of red fur did I see. We gave up and decided to have a look (and a cake ) in the visitor centre, on the way seeing a chicken that had decided to make a nest in the middle of the road, when I turned around to see:



eating nuts by the window. Not really in its natural habitat but we were satisfied!

Sorry for the quality it was taken through rather a lot of mucky glass.

Always the way,,, I spent two weeks climbing in Corsica years ago and looked for the elusive corsican Nuthatch everywhere... Saw one on last day in the hotels garden on a birdtable,,,,,
