Rats in Loft?

To solve the problem of rat is to buy a traps for them.the other way to kill or trap rat is to use chemical medicine which are easily available for killing rats.

hi there
im a new member on here and i have the same problem as you. i have recently found rats in my loft and have had the pest control out, they said that there were lots of rats living there and they could be nesting! They say that they have got in through a hole outside where the gas pipe is, which i have had cemented in today, look around outside they can get through any hole however small. The pest control have put bags of poision down, which still means that i will have to clear the loft to find the dead rats, but at least it will get rid of the rats. If you get the pest control out they dont charge for getting rid of rats. good luck.

Although as you say regarding the dogs, if you carnt afford to pay vet bills etc you shouldnt really have the dog.
Get a goldfish or something cheap if you want a pet.

To be honest, you won't get a lot of love or even simple feedback from a Goldfish.

A Yorkie is next to nothing in size ( so a low running cost) & they are pretty bright.

yes i have had the council out who have put down poision to kill the rats in my loft!! i asked how i would get the dead rats out and they said i wouldnt but they would give me something to stop the smell!!!! there is no way i will leave smelling dead rats up there, as i have heard lots of stories, aobut maggots, files etc!!! anyone any ideas how i could get them out????

You might try buying a humane /live trap - that means frequent checking to see what you catch.
Then you can take the trap out in the middle of nowhere & release the critter.

Bait your 'humane' trap with chocolate . Eventually they will bite.

The bait they give them is slow -acting & they will eventually die & yes - that could mean they finally expire in a small confined space, that's going to be very hard to find / get to .

Sorry, the only scrap of help I can give is for you to follow your nose...
