I can't see it being one of these, even if it was, Arctic Foxes turn a dark brown/grey colour in the spring.

Good point except that it may not realise it's spring yet! The book says May/June for spring moult. Also, if it's been in close captivity its biological clock may be up the Swanee.

henrya | It may be May/June up in the arctic (much shorter summers), but I would expect it to be 2 months earlier at our latitude. |

| | | Re: White Fox I have searched and searched and looked for the white fox almost everyday at different times through the day but to no avail. The neighbours say they saw him in their garden once, so thankfully its not me imagining it all...heehee. Oh yeah, in the field opposite my house the farmer has added some llama's. Makes a change from the sheep which got carted off a few weeks ago...boohoo!! |

| | | Re: White Fox It could be a Red Fox that has got over being embarrased hehe Thats really amazing when you see animals in different colours.
I saw once in the Daily mail last year, a group of animals like foxes, squirrells, badgers, birds and others in Albino colour, we could try and post them on here and that would be awesome!

Great site
Whist travelling home into Grimsby at 2am a large fox shaped animal was highlighted in the headlights it appeared to have a white face and a grey body was this a mouling fox ? It wasn't a pure white fox but it still raised a few eyebrows amongst the passengers |

Welcome to the WAB.
What a great story to start with, wish I could have been there to see it, a moment to savour for ever.

| | | Re: White Fox hey its quite strange as we have a white fox living nearby which looks very much like a dog but has a great big bushy tail and fox like face. i first saw it walking across the industrial park. it is very strange to see a fox as i live in the middle of the city right by a main road. i have looked it up several times and it seems to be a fox, but i just looked outside my house and it was walking down the road barking/howling more like a dog. I wonder if this is normal for a fox (: great to see though. |
