Re: Dormouse breaks the rules

wow thats different, fancy a doormouse going to such lengths to feed,i didnt even realise they would go in someones garden let alone climb up a pole to get the nuts, only ever seen one in my life and that was in a place in chelmsford called bunnys walk,he was on the river bank, but soon shot off when he saw us coming, plus we had a dog with us.

Re: Dormouse breaks the rules

Hi,

I'm sure I've seen a program about edible doormice being a protected species, and were spreading by some square miles a year, they were eating anything in peoples houses, including wireing, and the householders were by law unable to touch them.

Max.

Re: Dormouse breaks the rules

When you think you are starting to understand a species...it goes and does something like this

I was in a Forestry plantaion in Usk. And i noticed some abandoned Beehives,
I had to have a nose. I lifted the lid on one, and there was a Dormouse fast asleep in a nest. And the habitat seemed inapropriate for this species.. that is, if you take certain literatures as gospel !!
