| | | Weasel !! Had a great encounter with this little fella this morning. While walking down one of the country lanes to check a local Red Squirrel site, I heard a rustling in the undergrowth.Thinking it was a Vole or Mouse I stood still to see if i could spot the culprit. To my surprise, this little fella popped his face out from under the leaves and came right onto the path to check me out.
He quickly disappeared again, so I tried "squeaking" him out,and he came back almost immediately - to within 3ft of where I stood. He did this 3 times, and on the last show, i managed this quick pic.Not great, but my first image of one of these cracking creatures, so I was pretty pleased.

| | | Re: Weasel !! Nice one, Mark Great to read of your encounter and view your record of it.
I find it really thrilling to see either weasels or stoats - especially when they're close enough to get a good look, rather than streaking across the road when I'm driving. I had a similar experience to you at the weekend when I heard a rustle that turned out to be a stoat - and it stayed still long enough for me to grab a couple of shots. I'm still smiling about it |
